4 Ways I Get FREE Products for Amazon Influencer Videos

If you're in the Amazon Influencer Program, one of the biggest questions you eventually run into is:
Where do you actually get all the products to review?
Because obviously, you can buy products yourself.
And when you're first getting started, that's probably what you're going to do.
You can review things you already own, things around your house, or products you were planning to buy anyway.
But if you're trying to consistently create Amazon Influencer videos and scale this into a real income stream, buying every single product you review can get expensive very quickly.
So in this post, I want to show you a few different ways I've been able to get access to products without constantly going out and buying things specifically for Amazon Influencer videos.
And some of these strategies can actually create additional income streams outside of the Amazon Influencer Program as well.
Let's start with the first one.
1. TikTok Shop Affiliate Product Requests
The first strategy is something I think a lot of Amazon Influencers overlook:
TikTok Shop.
If you're also a TikTok Shop affiliate and you're eligible to request samples, there are potentially a ton of products you can request from sellers.
The seller sends you the product because they want you to create content promoting it on TikTok.
So obviously, if you request a sample, make sure you're actually fulfilling whatever requirements you agree to on TikTok.
But once I physically have that product, I can potentially get more use out of it than just creating one piece of content.
For example, I might create the TikTok content I received the sample for, but I can also potentially create a separate product review for Amazon if the same product is sold there and the content complies with Amazon's requirements.
Now I'm potentially creating multiple pieces of content and multiple income opportunities from one product.
And that's a theme you're going to see throughout this entire strategy.
I'm always looking for ways to get more value out of products I already have access to instead of constantly buying something new just to make another video.
2. Build Your Amazon Influencer Presence
The second method is probably the simplest, but it takes some time.
As you create more Amazon Influencer videos and establish yourself as somebody who consistently reviews products, companies can start finding you.
I regularly get emails and messages from companies offering to send me products to review.
And obviously, you don't have to accept every single one.
I try to look for products that actually make sense for me to review and products where I think creating a video could potentially be worthwhile.
But the nice thing about this method is that it can eventually become somewhat inbound.
Instead of constantly searching for companies and asking them to send you products, companies begin reaching out to you.
And the more content you create, the more opportunities you potentially give yourself to be discovered.
So if you're brand new and nobody is emailing you yet, don't assume you're doing something wrong.
Initially, you may need to be much more proactive.
But as you build your content library and establish yourself as a creator, you may start seeing more companies reach out directly.
And when a company does send me a product, it's still important that I'm giving my actual opinion.
Getting something for free doesn't mean you have to say it's amazing.
The goal should still be to create a useful review for somebody who's considering buying that product.
3. Creator Connections + Viral Vue
The third strategy is one I've been using to make the outreach side of this process a lot easier:
Amazon Creator Connections combined with Viral Vue.
Creator Connections can give you opportunities to connect with brands that are already interested in working with creators.
But instead of manually trying to manage all of that outreach one company at a time, I've been using Viral Vue to help streamline the process.
One thing you can do is create messaging templates that you can use when reaching out to brands.
So instead of writing a brand-new message from scratch every single time, I can have a repeatable system for:
Introducing myself
Explaining that I'm an Amazon Influencer
Showing the type of content I create
Asking whether they're interested in sending a sample I can potentially create content around
And once you start doing this consistently, it becomes a numbers game.
Not every company is going to respond.
Not every company is going to send you something.
And not every product is necessarily worth reviewing.
But if you're consistently putting yourself in front of relevant brands, you give yourself a lot more opportunities than if you're just sitting around waiting for someone to email you.
That's why this has become one of my favorite strategies.
It's proactive.
Instead of waiting for free products to find me, I can actually go out and create those opportunities myself.
4. Retail Dropshipping
The fourth strategy is a little different, but I think it's really interesting if you're already involved in eCommerce.
That's retail dropshipping.
With retail dropshipping, I'm listing products for sale on marketplaces and then sourcing those products from retail suppliers when I receive an order.
So you're probably wondering:
What does that have to do with getting products for Amazon Influencer videos?
The connection is that retail dropshipping already has me researching products constantly.
I'm looking at:
Products
Suppliers
Marketplaces
Demand
Pricing
Different sales opportunities
So instead of treating my Amazon Influencer business and my eCommerce businesses like two completely separate things, I look for opportunities where they can complement each other.
If I legitimately purchase or otherwise have access to a product through my eCommerce activities, that can potentially give me another product I can personally test, demonstrate, and create original content around.
And that content can potentially become another asset for my Amazon Influencer business.
The bigger idea here is something I've talked about a lot:
Try to get multiple income opportunities out of the work you're already doing.
A product doesn't necessarily have to be useful for only one business model.
I might find a product because of retail dropshipping.
I might create an Amazon Influencer video around it.
I might create TikTok content around it.
I could potentially create a YouTube review and use an affiliate link there.
So instead of constantly starting from zero, I'm trying to build a system where the different businesses feed into each other.
Which Strategy Should You Start With?
Those are four of the main ways I've been able to continually get access to products and create more Amazon Influencer content without simply buying random products over and over again specifically to review them.
If you're just getting started, start with what you already have.
Walk around your house.
Look at products you've purchased from Amazon.
Look at things you use every day.
You don't need hundreds of free products before you can start.
Then, as you build momentum, you can start layering these other strategies on top.
You can:
Use TikTok Shop Affiliate samples
Build your Amazon Influencer presence so companies begin reaching out
Proactively contact companies through Creator Connections and tools like Viral Vue
Look for ways to make your eCommerce and product research workflows complement your content business
The goal isn't just to get as much free stuff as possible.
The goal is to create a repeatable system that gives you access to more products that actually make sense to create content around.
And the more relevant products you have access to, the more quality videos you can potentially create.
The more quality videos you create, the more opportunities you give yourself to earn commissions.
The Bigger Opportunity
What I really like about all of these strategies is that they can start feeding into each other.
One product could potentially become:
An Amazon Influencer review
TikTok Shop content
A YouTube product review
Social media content
Affiliate traffic
A brand relationship
Another piece of content for your website or blog
So you're no longer thinking:
“How do I get one more product to make one more Amazon video?”
You're thinking:
“How can I get access to products that can create multiple opportunities across my entire content business?”
That's a much more scalable way to approach this.
Final Thoughts
If you're in the Amazon Influencer Program, you do not need to constantly spend money buying random products just to keep creating content.
Start with what you already own.
Then build systems that give you access to more products over time.
Use TikTok Shop Affiliate samples.
Build enough content that brands start reaching out to you.
Use Creator Connections and tools like Viral Vue to proactively create brand relationships.
And if you're already involved in eCommerce, look for ways your existing product research and sourcing activities can feed your content business too.
Once you stop thinking about every platform as a completely separate business and start looking for ways to connect them, one product can potentially create a surprising number of opportunities.
And that's really the goal.
More useful products.
More quality content.
More opportunities to earn.
